Mold assessment and Air Quality Rotunda West Florida
A thorough moisture mapping assessment was performed within the master bedroom, guest bedroom, and guest bathroom areas of the residence located in Rotonda West, Florida. Elevated moisture levels were detected within the guest bedroom, guest bathroom, and master bathroom, indicating conditions conducive to microbial growth.
In addition to moisture mapping, air quality testing was performed to evaluate airborne fungal spore concentrations and determine whether indoor conditions were consistent with amplification related to the observed moisture conditions. Visible fungal growth was observed within the guest bedroom at the time of inspection, warranting prompt remediation to prevent further amplification and cross-contamination of adjacent areas.
A surface swab sample collected from the visible fungal growth within the guest bedroom identified the presence of Chaetomium, a water-damage indicator mold commonly associated with prolonged moisture intrusion. Air quality testing results, including air samples collected from the same area, revealed Chaetomium present within the indoor air, supporting the conclusion that airborne contamination was occurring in the affected space.
Based on these findings, professional mold remediation is recommended. A detailed remediation protocol was provided outlining necessary corrective actions, including establishment of proper containment, implementation of negative air pressure utilizing air scrubbers, and cleaning of affected structural surfaces using HEPA vacuum and damp wipe methods.
The recommended remediation procedures are intended to remove contaminated materials, address the moisture source, prevent additional fungal amplification, and restore the indoor environment to normal fungal ecology.
